# How do I choose where a scene starts looking?

Keywords: initial view, starting view, starting direction, which way visitors face, first view, facing the wrong way, heading, default view, tour opens facing a wall, start facing the view

Open the tour's **Panoramas** tab, click the scene in **Panorama List**, drag the picture on **Panorama Settings** until what visitors should see first is in the middle, and click **Set Initial View**. There is no Save button: the view is saved at once. The same button is on the **Hotspots** tab.

The direction and the tilt are saved for this tour only, so the same photo can open differently in another tour. A scene you have not set opens level, with no tilt. The zoom is not saved with the view: every scene opens at the tour's **Initial zoom (FOV)**, an **Advanced** setting on the **Camera** tab of **Transitions and cameras**.

No plan is needed. A tour with Draft Workflows on shows the old view to visitors until you click **Publish changes**.
