Every control of the upload panel on Create Tour and in a tour's upload window: what it does, what it starts as, and what you see while photos upload.

The upload panel is where you add 360 photos to Panoramr. You drop them, or choose them, and the panel checks each one, makes it ready in your browser and sends it. It is the same panel on Create Tour, in a tour's **Add Panorama** window, in the **Asset Library**'s Add Panorama window and in **Replace Scene Asset**. This page describes its controls. What its messages mean, and what to do when a row fails, is on [Fix upload problems](https://www.panoramr.com/help/fix-upload-problems); which files and sizes it takes is on [Photo requirements](https://www.panoramr.com/help/photo-requirements).

**What it takes.** JPEG and TIFF photos that are about twice as wide as they are high, up to 23,000 pixels wide on a computer with plenty of memory. Everything else is left out and the panel says why.

## Adding photos

### Choose photos

Pick one or more photo files from your computer or phone.

**Where:** The upload panel, the first screen. Basic and Advanced view.
**Default:** Always there. In **Replace Scene Asset** it reads **Choose a photo** and takes one file.
**What it does:** Opens your device's file picker. You can also drop the files on the panel.
**What visitors see:** Nothing. This is the editor's own screen.
**Needs:** On Create Tour without an account, a tick on the box that says you agree to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
**Related:** **Choose a folder**.

### Choose a folder

Add every 360 photo in a folder, and in the folders inside it.

**Where:** The upload panel, the first screen, beside **Choose photos**. Basic and Advanced view.
**Default:** Always there.
**What it does:** Searches the folder to the bottom, up to 500 files. Files that are not 360 photos are left out and counted. The photos are put in the order they were taken.
**What visitors see:** Nothing.
**Related:** [Files from a folder were skipped](https://www.panoramr.com/help/fix-upload-problems#files-from-a-folder-were-skipped).

## While you add

These controls sit in a rail beside the list (above it on a narrow screen) on Create Tour and in a tour's window, and in the options strip of the checked list in the library's window.

### Order

Choose the order the new panoramas take in the tour.

**Where:** The rail, or the options strip. Not in the library's window.
**Default:** **Date taken**
**What it does:** **Date taken** puts the photos in the order the camera took them. **File name (A to Z)** sorts by file name. **My own order (drag to change)** keeps the order you chose or dropped them in, and lets you drag a row by the grip at its left to move it. Dragging a row switches the order to this one.
**What visitors see:** The rooms of the tour in that order.
**Related:** **Tidy the names**.

### Tidy the names

Turn camera file names into room names.

**Where:** The rail, or the options strip.
**Default:** On
**What it does:** Removes `IMG_` and `PANO_` and the underscores, so `PANO_0412_lobby` becomes `Lobby`. The panel's own label shows this example. You can also click a row's name to type a better one.
**What visitors see:** The panorama names in the tour's menus.
**Related:** [Panoramas tab](https://www.panoramr.com/help/editor-panoramas-tab).

### Put these panoramas in a group

Put every photo of this import in one panorama group.

**Where:** The rail, in a tour's window and on Create Tour.
**Default:** Off
**What it does:** Ticked, it shows a **Group name** box. If the tour already has groups it shows a list of them, with **New group…**. The name goes to every photo of the import, including ones you add or name while the others are still uploading.
**What visitors see:** The group in the tour's room lists.
**Needs:** A tour. The library has no groups.
**Related:** [Organize panoramas with groups](https://www.panoramr.com/help/organizing-tours-with-panorama-groups).

### Import Panoramas

Start a checked list.

**Where:** The foot of the library's Add Panorama window, and of any window while Panoramr's team has the face blur switched on.
**Default:** Waits for you. On Create Tour and in a tour's window photos start as soon as you choose them.
**What it does:** Before it, the panel shows what would be added, what will be fixed (amber), what cannot be used (red, with the reason), and how many fit on your plan. A choice of more than 50 photos or 5 GB shows how long it will take and offers `Start with the first 50`. The × on a photo takes it out of the choice before anything starts. **Cancel** asks `Are you sure you want to cancel? None of these photos will be added.`: **Yes, cancel** drops the whole choice, **Keep them** keeps it.
**What visitors see:** Nothing.
**Needs:** Room on your plan.

### Blur faces

Hide faces in the photos before they are made ready.

**Where:** The checked list, in the options strip. Shown only while Panoramr's team has the face blur switched on.
**Default:** Off
**What it does:** Finds faces on your device. **Check them** shows each one so you can switch the mosaic off for it. The ones left on are hidden before the photo is made into tiles.
**What visitors see:** A mosaic over each hidden face. A panorama blurred this way cannot be sent to Google Street View.
**Needs:** The team's switch.
**Related:** [Blur faces and number plates](https://www.panoramr.com/help/blur-faces-and-number-plates).

### Photos on your phone?

Send photos from your phone straight into the tour.

**Where:** The panel's first screen and a tour's Add Panorama window. Shown only while Panoramr's team has Send from phone on.
**Default:** Off
**What it does:** **Open QR code to scan** makes a code. Scan it with the phone's camera and choose photos there. They appear in a list under the code as they arrive. The code works for 30 minutes; **Make a new code** makes another and **Close the code** ends it.
**What visitors see:** Nothing.
**Needs:** The same account on the phone and the computer.
**Related:** [Post a 360 photo](https://www.panoramr.com/help/post-a-360-photo).

### A photo with the same file name

Decide what to do with a new version of a photo the tour has.

**Where:** A row that says `Your choice`, in a tour's window.
**Default:** Waits for you.
**What it does:** **Replace** puts the new picture into that scene and keeps its name, hotspots and place. **Add as new** adds another panorama. **Skip** leaves it out. With two or more, `Replace all` and **Skip all** answer for all.
**What visitors see:** The scene with its new picture, or no change.
**Related:** [Replace or swap a panorama](https://www.panoramr.com/help/replace-or-swap-a-panorama).

## Stopping and leaving

### Stop import

End an import part-way.

**Where:** The panel's header while photos are going.
**Default:** Asks first.
**What it does:** Asks `Stop the import? Photos already in your tour stay; the rest are removed.` **Stop import** ends it. **Keep going** does not.

On **Create Tour** the list shows only the photos you added there, and you can take them out again:

- The × on a row removes that photo, even once it says Ready. A photo you uploaded goes to the Trash, where **Restore** brings it back for 30 days; one you took from your library (**Use that one**) only leaves the tour.
- **Cancel** in the header stays there after everything is in, and asks `Are you sure you want to cancel? Remove everything takes out every photo and the new tour; new photos go to the Trash for 30 days.` **Remove everything** does that and starts the page again; **Stop import** (while photos are still going) keeps the ones in your tour; **Keep them** or **Keep going** changes nothing. A tour bought into a Vault stays in its Vault, empty.

**What visitors see:** The photos that were already in the tour.
**Related:** [The tray](https://www.panoramr.com/help/upload-panoramas#the-tray).

### The tray

Keep uploading while you work elsewhere.

**Where:** A small box in the corner of every page, once you close the window or move on.
**Default:** Appears when photos are still going.
**What it does:** Shows the progress. **Open the list** brings the panel back. **Clear the finished** empties the rows that are over. Folded with its X it becomes a chip such as `3 of 12`. Closing the browser tab stops the work, and the browser asks first.
**What visitors see:** Nothing.
**Related:** [I closed the window or left the page](https://www.panoramr.com/help/fix-upload-problems#i-closed-the-window-or-left-the-page).

### Done

Close the window when every row is in or has failed.

**Where:** The foot of a tour's Add Panorama window.
**Default:** Appears when the work is over.
**What it does:** Closes the window and refreshes the tour's panorama list. A group typed late is saved first.
**What visitors see:** Nothing.
**Related:** **Keep working** closes the window earlier and lets the photos carry on.
