Can I blur faces and number plates in a panorama?
Last checked 29 October 2026
Yes. On the Panoramas tab, pick the panorama and click Blur faces or plates, the button under Replace Original File. In the window, click Draw an area and drag a box over each face or number plate, or over anything else you want hidden, such as a house number or a neighbour's window (up to 50 at once), then click Blur areas. The same button is on the panorama's page in your library and on a Panoramr's page.
The blur is made into the panorama's own pictures, so every tour and Panoramr that shows it is blurred, about a minute after you confirm. A copy somebody downloaded earlier, a page still open in a browser, and a copy already sent to Google Street View are not changed. Find faces looks for faces for you only where our team has switched it on, and it never finds number plates: draw those yourself.
The owner of the panorama can take an area away later with Take away; a collaborator can blur but not take a blur away. Blur faces and number plates in a panorama has the details.
