Getting started

Can I try Panoramr without signing up?

Yes. On Create Tour you can build a tour from your own 360 photos without an account: up to 20 panoramas, each a 2:1 JPEG or TIFF, best at 250 MB or less. You tick a box to agree to the terms and choose your photos; each one goes into a guest tour as soon as it is ready, and you open the tour to add hotspots, choose a design and publish. It is kept as a guest tour for 2 days, and creating an account keeps it for good. Try Panoramr without an account has the steps.

Do visitors need an account to view a tour?

No. A published tour opens for anyone who has its address. A draft opens only for you and the people you invite, and they need an account with a confirmed email address. Share a tour explains how a tour is published and what is not offered, such as a password.

What do I need to make a tour?

You need 360 photos and a current browser, and an account to keep the tour and publish it. While the free trial is switched on, Create Tour also lets you start a tour without an account, kept as a guest tour for 2 days. The photos should be 2:1 JPEG or TIFF files, up to 23,000 × 11,500 pixels. Use Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera or Safari (version 15 or later): your photos are processed in the browser, so a large panorama can take a while. If the site asks you to confirm your email address, do that first. Photo requirements has the full list, and Create your first 360 virtual tour the steps.

What is Panoramr?

Panoramr is a tool for making virtual tours from 360 photos, with a site, Explore, where you can list a tour for anyone to browse. You add your photos on Create Tour, link the scenes with hotspots, choose a design and publish the tour. A published tour opens for anyone who has its address. Create your first 360 virtual tour takes you through the steps.

Which browsers can I build a tour in?

A current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera or Safari (version 15 or later), best on a computer. A computer prepares your photos in the browser, up to three at once and fewer when they are large, so a large panorama can take a while. A phone or tablet sends its photos to Panoramr's servers to be prepared. Create your first 360 virtual tour has the steps.

Photos and uploads

Can I replace a photo without losing my hotspots?

Yes. On the Panoramrs tab, select the scene and click Replace Original File, then add the new file on the Upload New tab: it goes into the same panorama, so its hotspots and each tour's settings for the scene stay. Every tour that uses the panorama gets the new picture, and there is no undo. The Asset Library tab in the same window swaps in a different panorama instead. That does not carry the hotspots over: the scene then shows the other panorama's hotspots, and yours stay with the old panorama. Replace or swap a panorama's picture has the steps.

Link to this question

Do you remove the location from my photos?

Yes, for photos you upload now. Panoramr takes the camera data, the GPS position included, out of your original and out of the copies that visitors load, and keeps where the photo was taken in a private field that only you can use. A map location you set yourself goes to visitors with the tour. A photo uploaded earlier may still have its camera data in a public file until it is cleaned, and we cannot say whether it has been. What Panoramr keeps about your photos has the detail.

Link to this question

Which photo formats and sizes can I upload?

JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg) or TIFF (.tif, .tiff) files that are twice as wide as they are tall (2:1), or six square cube-face files. A photo within 5% of 2:1 is taken too, and fitted to the sphere. A sphere can be up to 23,000 pixels wide and a cube face up to 16,000 × 16,000. PNG, WebP, HEIC and every other kind of file are not taken. A file of 250 MB or less works best: a larger one is still taken, but takes longer and needs a recent computer with plenty of memory. Photo requirements has the full list.

Read more: Photo requirements: formats, sizes and limits, Fix upload problems: refused files, limits and stuck imports

Link to this question

Why was my photo ignored when I uploaded it?

The upload panel does not leave a file out without saying so: a file it cannot use is listed in red, marked Can’t use, with the reason on its row. The usual reasons: the file is not a JPEG or TIFF (PNG, WebP and HEIC are not taken), it is not a full 360 photo (its width divided by its height is outside 1.9 to 2.1, as a crop is), a cube is missing some of its six faces, or it is larger than the size limit (23,000 pixels wide for a sphere, 16,000 for a cube face). A photo marked Already added is in the tour or in the list already, and when you choose more photos than your account can still hold, only the first ones are added. No file is left out for how many megabytes it is: 250 MB or less works best, and a larger one is still taken, but takes longer and needs a recent computer with plenty of memory. Fix upload problems lists every message.

Can I add a floor plan?

Yes. On the Floor Plans tab (in the Advanced view), click Upload Floor Plan and choose a PNG or JPEG file of up to 5 MB; SVG files are not accepted. Pin each scene on the plan, then use Calibrate Radar so the cone on the map points the way the camera faces. Visitors see the plan as a small map in a corner of the tour, set up under Floorplan Minimap on the Design tab (also in the Advanced view). Add a floor plan and a minimap to a tour has the details.

Can I add a menu or a list of scenes?

Yes, on the Design tab. The Top Nav Bar - Multi Menu is a website-style menu across the top of the tour: tick Show Menu Bar, click Build menu, add scenes and links, then click Done and Save & Render. Side Nav - List Menu is a sidebar that lists the scenes, and Bottom Nav - Thumbnails is a row of scene thumbnails. The Info & Media Panel can show the scenes too, in a Panoramas tab beside each room's text and media; it takes the place of Bottom Nav - Thumbnails (the Info & Media Panel). Build a Top Nav Bar - Multi Menu also says what a public page needs to show the bar, and Customize the player's bars covers the others.

Can I make a tour in several languages?

Yes. Add a language under Tour Languages on the tour's Settings tab (in the Advanced view), choose it in the Editing: list and type the translation of each text. The list offers ten languages, but the player shows only Spanish, French, German, Chinese and Arabic: a visitor who picks Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian or Japanese sees the English text. Visitors choose a language with the globe button or by adding ?lang= and the code to the tour's address. Translate a tour into other languages says when the globe shows.

Hotspots and media

Can I add video, audio and images to a tour?

Yes, all three, as hotspots. A video (a YouTube address, a Vimeo address or an MP4 file) plays on a spot in the scene or opens in a window. A picture goes on a spot with Surface Media, and an Image Gallery opens several pictures in a window (galleries). A sound uses the Audio Narration (Play/Pause) variant, which plays an MP3 or WAV file from the direction of its badge (sound).

Link to this question

What are hotspots?

A hotspot is a marker you place on a scene. The Hotspots tab makes three kinds: an infotation (an information hotspot, with a list of variants), a link hotspot (a door to another scene) and surface media (a picture, video, web page or text fixed to a spot in the scene). Click a scene, click an add button, click the picture where it goes and set it up in Hotspot Properties; changes save by themselves. Hotspot types and settings lists every kind.

Design and branding

Can I put my own branding on a tour?

Yes, on a hosted tour. Open the tour's Publish tab, then Hosting, and click Add your logo and words. Choose a logo and add your words: they go on the round patch that covers the tripod on the floor of every scene. A tour that is not hosted shows Panoramr's branding, and your own cannot be added.

Publish, share and embed

Can I download a tour?

Yes. Open the tour's Publish tab, click Download, then Download on the Download Standalone Tour card, and choose Download free theme or, when it is available, Download my design. You get a ZIP of the tour as a small website, which you put on a web server. Opening index.html by double-clicking it is likely to show a black screen, and the page still asks two outside services for a font and a map library. Download my design is part of the paid plans: a Vault is hosting and does not include it. Download a tour as a ZIP says which design you get and what is in the ZIP.

Read more: Download a tour as a ZIP and host it on your own server

Link to this question

Can I password protect a tour?

No: Panoramr has no password for a tour. A new tour is a draft that only you and the collaborators you add can open while signed in. Once a tour is published, anyone who has its address can open it, and the address is not a secret, so treat a published tour as public. To show a draft to one person, invite them as a Viewer. Who can see a tour explains each state.

Link to this question

Can I use a tour on an MLS listing?

Panoramr has no MLS-specific link or version of a tour. A published tour has its own address that you can send, and the editor has no button that copies it: Share a tour lists where to find each address and when it opens. What a listing service accepts is up to that service and outside Panoramr's control, so check its rules first.

Link to this question

Can I use my own domain for a tour?

No. Panoramr has no custom domain: a tour is always served from Panoramr's own addresses. To show a tour under your own address, embed it in a page on your site. Share a tour lists what is not offered: a password, a custom domain and an MLS link.

Link to this question

How do I embed a tour on my website?

Copy the Web Embed Code from the tour's Publish tab and paste it into a block on your page that accepts HTML. It is one line of HTML, an iframe that shows the tour's player, 600 pixels tall unless you change 600px. The tour must be published. Every plan can embed a published tour, and one that is not hosted carries Panoramr's branding. If your page shows Tour not published instead of the tour, or the tour in another theme than the one you chose, see Fix embed problems. Embed a 360 tour on WordPress, Squarespace or Wix has the steps for each builder.

How do I see how many people viewed my tour?

Open the tour's Analytics tab (in the Advanced view); for all your tours together, click Global Analytics in the avatar menu. Panoramr counts unique views: a visitor counts once an hour for each tour, and programs such as search bots, and anything opened from the Preview tab, do not count. The page also shows countries, days and the most viewed rooms. A tour has no Google Analytics setting. Tour analytics says what is counted and what is not.

How do I share a tour?

Publish the tour, or invite the people who should see it. A new tour is a draft that only you and the people you invite can open, and a published tour opens for anyone who has its address. To show a draft to a client, add them under Project Collaborators on the Settings tab (in the Advanced view). The editor has no button that copies a tour's link: Share a tour has the ways to publish, where to find each address and when it opens, and what is not offered, such as a password or a custom domain.

Link to this question

Can I embed a tour with no Panoramr branding?

Yes. A tour that is hosted, in a Vault or in your plan's hosting, plays inside other websites without Panoramr's start screen or the badge on the floor. Tick Published on the tour's Hosting tab (a tour in a Vault is published already) and click Save Settings, then copy the Web Embed Code from the Overview pane of the Publish tab and paste it into your page.

A tour that has never been hosted can be embedded too, on any plan, once it is listed on Explore (Publish to Global Showcase on the Overview pane), with Panoramr's start screen and the badge on the floor. Remove Panoramr branding explains what hosting changes.

Viewing tours

Do you support VR headsets?

A tour can have a VR button, but we have not tried VR on a headset or in a Cardboard viewer. Tick VR Mode Toggle under Top Nav Bar - Dropdown on the Design tab (it is off to begin with). A visitor who presses it gets an immersive session if the browser can start one, and otherwise a split-screen view for a phone in a viewer. VR is gaze-only, with no controllers. Add VR mode to a tour says what the player sends and shows, and who sees the button.

Plans, billing and account

What is a Vault?

A Vault hosts one tour. While it runs, the tour shows no Panoramr branding, appears in your own design and can be embedded on other websites, and you choose whether it is private, published by its link or listed on Explore. You buy one for the number of panoramas the tour has: 10, 36, 100 or 250, paid once for 1, 3 or 5 years or renewed each year. A year of Vault 10 is £19 and a year of Vault 250 is £99. No VAT is charged: the company that sells Panoramr is not registered for VAT, so the price you see is the price you pay. If that changes, VAT will be added to the price of payments made after the change.

Vault hosting has the sizes and the prices. A Vault is hosting, not a download: Download a tour as a ZIP says what comes with a plan.

Read more: Vault hosting: what a Vault is and what it gives a tour, Free publishing, plan hosting or a Vault: where your tour lives, Vault billing: pay once, or pay by the year

Link to this question

Do I need a plan to buy a Vault?

No. A Vault is bought on its own and works on any account, including Free. It does not change your plan. A plan hosts a number of panoramas shared by all your tours, 250 on Pro and 360 on Agency; a Vault hosts one tour.

Free publishing, plan hosting or a Vault compares the three.

Read more: Vault hosting: what a Vault is and what it gives a tour, Plans, prices and limits, Free publishing, plan hosting or a Vault: where your tour lives

Link to this question

Should I use a Vault, my plan's hosting or free publishing?

Free publishing puts a tour on Explore with Panoramr's branding, on any account. Your plan's hosting suits you when the tours you want hosted fit in what the plan hosts, 250 panoramas on Pro and 360 on Agency. A Vault suits a tour that does not fit, a customer with no plan, or hosting that you want to keep apart and pay for over a set time.

A tour is in one place at a time. Free publishing, plan hosting or a Vault shows what each gives and holds.

Read more: Free publishing, plan hosting or a Vault: where your tour lives, Vault hosting: what a Vault is and what it gives a tour, Plans, prices and limits

Link to this question

Can I buy a Vault before I have a tour?

Yes. The Vault waits, empty, and you create a new tour in it or put one of your tours in it later. The term starts the day you pay, so do not buy long before you need it. If the Vault is still empty after three days, we remind you.

You need an account to pay. If you have none, you make one on the way, and its email address may have to be confirmed before you can pay: click the link in the email we send. Buy a Vault before you have a tour has the steps.

Read more: Buy a Vault before you have a tour, Vault hosting: what a Vault is and what it gives a tour, Vault billing: pay once, or pay by the year

Link to this question

Which Vault size do I need?

Count the panoramas in the tour: a Vault holds as many as its size. Vault 10 suits a café or a small shop, Vault 36 a hotel or a gallery, Vault 100 a large venue, a school or a museum, and Vault 250 a campus or a resort. The page Vaults shows what each size costs, and when you buy a Vault for a tour that is made already, the store chooses the smallest size that holds it.

You can make a Vault bigger at any time, so start with what the tour needs now. A tour with more than 250 panoramas does not fit: contact us.

Read more: Vault hosting: what a Vault is and what it gives a tour, Buy a Vault before you have a tour, Make a Vault longer or bigger

Link to this question

Can I pay for a Vault once or every year?

Yes. You can pay once for 1, 3 or 5 years, and a longer term costs less a year. Or you can let the Vault renew every year, at the price of one year, until you stop it. No VAT is charged: the company that sells Panoramr is not registered for VAT, so the price you see is the price you pay. If that changes, VAT will be added to the price of payments made after the change.

Link to this question

How do I stop a Vault renewing?

Click your name or picture at the top right (on a narrow screen, the menu button), then My Account and My Vaults, open the Vault and click Stop renewing. The Vault runs to the end of the period you have paid for and then ends like any Vault. Until that day Keep renewing starts it again. The period that has begun is not paid back, but you may be able to cancel it within 14 days: see Can I get a refund?.

We mail you before each renewal, with a link to stop it.

Read more: Vault billing: pay once, or pay by the year, What happens when a Vault ends

Link to this question

Can I make a Vault bigger?

Yes, while the Vault is not canceled and its last payment did not fail. Open the Vault, pick a bigger size under How many panoramas? and pay the difference between the two sizes for the time that is left, counted by the day (and VAT, while VAT is charged). You can add years in the same payment, under How much longer?, unless the Vault renews by itself: stop the renewing first. Your change shows what each part costs and one total, and the new size applies as soon as the payment is done.

Make a Vault longer or bigger has an example.

Read more: Make a Vault longer or bigger, Vault hosting: what a Vault is and what it gives a tour, Vault billing: pay once, or pay by the year

Link to this question

Can I make a Vault smaller and get money back?

No. A Vault can be made bigger and longer, but not smaller, and the sizes below a Vault's own are greyed out and read Can't go smaller. A term you have paid for is not shortened either.

If your billing address is in the UK or the European Economic Area, you can cancel a payment within 14 days and get all of it back: see Cancel a Vault and get your money back. Cancelling the payment that made a Vault bigger puts it back to the size it had. After that, a refund is for the team to give: contact us and say why.

Make a Vault longer or bigger explains what you can change.

Link to this question

Can I shorten a Vault I paid for?

No. A term you have paid for is never made shorter, and a Vault is never made smaller either. You can stop a Vault that renews from renewing, and it ends when what you paid for is used.

If your billing address is in the UK or the European Economic Area, you can cancel a payment within 14 days and get it back: see Can I get a refund?.

How do I delete my account?

Click your name or picture at the top right (on a narrow screen, the menu button), then My Account, scroll the My profile page to the Delete Account card, click Delete Account, type your password and click Delete Account again. Deleting is permanent: your tours, panoramas, library, posts and comments are removed at once. If you signed up with Google, Facebook or Microsoft, choose a password under Update Password first. If you have a Vault that is still running or a plan that bills your card, a box lists them before you confirm: deleting ends them, and nothing is refunded. You cannot delete while a tour is moving to or from your account. Delete your account says what to check first and what is kept.

How do I turn on two-factor sign-in?

Click your name or picture at the top right (on a narrow screen, the menu button), then My Account. On the My profile page, find the Two-Factor Authentication card and click Enable Two-Factor (if your email address is not confirmed yet, confirm it first). Scan the QR code with an authenticator app on your phone, type the code the app shows into Verification Code and click Confirm Setup. Save the eight recovery codes: they are shown once, and without the phone and the codes there is no way to reset two-factor yourself. Set up two-factor authentication has the rest.

Can I get a refund?

If your billing address is in the UK or the European Economic Area, you can cancel any payment for a Vault within 14 days and get all of it back, VAT included. Open the Vault and click Cancel and refund under Change your mind: it cancels your latest payment, while its 14 days last. A buyer with a billing address elsewhere, and a payment with a VAT number on it (a business payment), has no such right.

A payment for a plan is canceled by writing to us within the same days. Anything else is for the team to decide: contact us. Cancel a Vault and get your money back explains who has the right and what it does.

Link to this question

Does a Vault include the download of my tour?

No. A Vault is hosting: it puts your tour online without Panoramr's branding, in your own design, with its link and its embeds. It does not include the download of the tour's files. The ZIP of your own design comes with a paid plan (Pro, Agency or Enterprise). On a paid plan, the ZIP of a tour that is hosted without Panoramr's branding, in your plan or in a Vault, has no Panoramr splash or logo, in either design.

On a Free plan any tour can download the Standard design, with Panoramr's branding, whether or not it is in a Vault. Download a tour as a ZIP and host it on your own server says what is in it.

Do I pay VAT, and where is my invoice?

No VAT is charged: the company that sells Panoramr is not registered for VAT, so the price you see is the price you pay. If that changes, VAT will be added to the price of payments made after the change.

Each payment has an invoice. Open the Vault and look under Payments: each line has an Invoice link. Every invoice, for plans and Vaults, is also listed under Plan & billing. VAT, invoices and refunds for a Vault has the rest.

Link to this question

How and when are refunds paid?

A refund goes back to the card that paid, and a credit note is made for it in Stripe. How long your bank takes to show it is the bank's. The VAT goes back in proportion. The Vault's page lists the payment as on its way back until Stripe reports the refund as done, and paid back after.

If it still reads on its way back after a while, or the card has been closed, contact us with the date and the amount.

What happens when a Vault ends?

Nothing is deleted. The tour stays online in its own design, with its embeds and its link, and visitors notice nothing for 7 days. After that Panoramr's branding comes back. If the tour does not fit free publishing, it becomes private, and we tell you. Renew the Vault at any time and the branding goes at once.

We mail you before the end, on the day, and when the branding returns. What happens when a Vault ends has the schedule.

Teams and community

Can collaborators delete panoramas?

It depends on the role. By default Editors and Admins can: the delete icon on a scene lets them take it out of the tour only, or choose Delete Panorama (Everywhere), which sends the owner's panorama to the owner's trash and out of every tour that uses it. Viewers cannot. The owner can switch Enable deleting panoramas off for Editors and Admins under Client Workspaces in My Account. Choose what Viewers, Editors and Admins can open has the grid.

How do I invite a client to a tour?

Open the tour's Settings tab (in the Advanced view), type the person's Email Address under Project Collaborators, choose an Access Level (Viewer can only look; Editor, the default, can also change the tour) and click Share. Someone with a confirmed account is added at once; otherwise the invitation waits 14 days until they sign up with that address and confirm it. Only the tour's owner can invite. To give a client the tour itself, see How do I hand a tour to my client?. Invite collaborators to a tour has the roles.

How do I hand a tour to my client?

Open the tour's Settings tab (in the Advanced view) and, under Project Collaborators, click Hand over to client. Only the tour's owner can, and the card is there only while Vaults are on sale. Type their email address, say who pays for the hosting and what you keep on the tour, and send the offer. The client looks at the tour first, takes it over with a Vault, and the tour moves into their account with everything in it. You can stay on it to help.

Handing a tour over is part of the Pro, Agency and Enterprise plans. Hand a tour over to a client has the steps.

Link to this question

My client has no account: can I still hand over a tour?

Yes. Send the offer to the email address your client uses. They make an account with that address, confirm it, and then take the tour over. Until they have taken it over the tour is still yours, and the offer stays open for 30 days.

The offer is for that address only, so nobody else can take the tour if the email is forwarded.

Read more: Hand a tour over to a client, Take over a tour from the person who made it, Sign up, confirm your email and sign in

Link to this question

Can I still edit a tour after handing it over?

Yes, if you chose Administrator or Editor when you made the offer. If you chose Viewer you can look at the tour and its statistics but not change it. The client can change your role or remove you at any time. If you chose that the tour leaves your account completely, you cannot open it afterwards.

The panoramas of the tour count in the client's account from then on, not in yours.

Link to this question

Who pays for renewals after I hand a tour over?

The client, who owns the tour and its Vault. When you made the offer you chose who pays for the first term: the client buys a Vault, or you pay, and the Vault you bought for a set time goes with the tour (a Vault that renews by itself is billed to your card and cannot go). In both cases the client extends it afterwards.

If you ticked that you want to hear when the hosting is about to end, you get the same mails about its end as the client.

A person looks at every report, the most serious first, and decides what to do: nothing, ask the owner to change something, or take a picture, post or tour down. You get a reference that starts with RPT- and a page that shows whether a person has decided yet, and a mail too if you gave an email address. If you think the decision is wrong, write to and quote the reference: somebody who did not decide it looks again. We promise no reply time and no particular outcome. Report a tour, a picture, a post or a person has the rest.

Who can see my original photos?

Your original is a private file, not one of the public copies that visitors load. You, collaborators who can open the Panoramrs tab of a tour that uses it, and Panoramr's admin team can open it, through a page that checks who is asking. What Panoramr keeps about your photos lists what is stored, who can reach each part and what a delete removes.

Fix a problem

I forgot my password. What do I do?

Click Reset password? on the Log in page and type your email address. If it has an account, we email a link to choose a new password; the link is good for 60 minutes, and a newer request replaces it. The new password needs at least 10 characters and cannot be one that has appeared in a data leak. If no email comes, check your spam folder and ask again after a minute. Fix sign-in problems lists every message.
