For restaurants and venues

Virtual tours for restaurants, bars and event venues

Let diners pick their table and event planners walk the room before they call. A 360° tour shows the atmosphere a photo cannot: the space, the light and how many it really seats.

In short

A restaurant or venue virtual tour is a 360° photo of each space, linked so visitors can walk from the entrance to the private dining room on your website. Most restaurants need fewer than 10 photos. Making the tour in Panoramr is free; hosting it without Panoramr’s branding costs from £19 a year, in a Vault of up to 10 photos.

How restaurants and venues use a tour

  • Fill the private dining room

Groups see the room, the table and the view before they book a celebration.

  • Win the wedding

Couples walk through the ceremony room, the reception and the bridal suite, set up as on the day.

  • Sell conferences and meetings

Organisers see each room laid out for a theatre, a classroom or a banquet, and the breakout spaces.

  • Show the atmosphere

The bar, the terrace and the open kitchen: the feel of the place that decides where people go.

What to photograph

Shoot when the room is set and lit, before guests arrive.

Two ways to get the photos

A tour is a 360° photo of each space, linked together. Who takes them is up to you.

Hire a professional

A 360° photographer shoots each space and hands you the photos. Many build the whole tour in Panoramr too, and hand it over to your account, ready to publish.

Take your own

With a 360° camera and a tripod, one press takes a whole room. Export the photos from the camera’s app and upload them.

What venues use most

  • Booking and shop buttons

Book a table, enquire about a wedding, download the menu: a button in the top menu or a link in a room. The tour has no booking form of its own.

    How it works
  • Pictures and screens on the walls

Put this week’s menu, a video of last summer’s wedding or a slideshow on a wall or a screen in the photo.

    How it works
  • Picture galleries

A badge that opens pictures of the room set up for different events.

    How it works
  • Floors and areas

Group the spaces: Restaurant, Weddings, Conferences, so each guest goes to theirs.

    How it works
  • Video in the scene

Open a YouTube, Vimeo or MP4 video in a window, or play it on a screen or a wall inside the photo itself.

    How it works
  • Open on the best view

Choose where visitors are looking when each room opens: the view from the window, the stage, the bed.

How a tour is made

  1. 1

    Upload your photos

Open Create Tour, give the tour a name and drop your photos in. No sign-up and no card. They are prepared in your browser, and the tour uploads by itself when they are ready.

  2. 2

    Design it

Choose a theme, then make it yours: colours, menus, buttons and the look of each hotspot. Choose where visitors start looking in each room.

  3. 3

    Link the rooms

Add hotspots so visitors can walk from one room to the next, and add text, pictures, video or a floor plan where they help.

  4. 4

    Keep it

Create a free account and the tour is yours. A guest tour is deleted after 2 days.

  5. 5

    Put it online

Publish it free with Panoramr’s branding, or buy a Vault for it to take the branding off.

  6. 6

    Share it

Paste its embed code into your website, and send its link by email or post it on social media.

What it costs

Making the tour is free. A small restaurant fits the smallest Vault; a wedding venue with grounds may need a bigger one.

Questions

How much does a restaurant virtual tour cost?

Making it is free. Hosting it without Panoramr’s branding costs from £19 a year, in a Vault of up to 10 photos. A venue with many rooms needs a bigger Vault, or a plan for several venues.

Can guests book a table from the tour?

They can click through to your booking page from a button or a link. The tour has no booking form of its own.

Can we show the room set up for different events?

Yes. Take a photo of each set-up and group them, or open a gallery of set-ups from a badge in the room.

Can we change the menu shown in the tour?

Yes. A menu put on a wall with Surface Media, or linked from a button, is changed in the editor without a new photo.

Does it work on phones?

Yes: guests drag or turn the phone to look round and tap to move between rooms.

Ways to share it

  • On your own website

Copy the embed code from the tour’s Publish tab and paste it into your page. It works with WordPress, Squarespace, Wix and most other sites.

    How to embed a tour
  • By its link

Send the tour’s address by email, put it in a booking confirmation or a newsletter, or post it on social media.

  • On Explore

Panoramr’s gallery of tours, with buttons to share yours on X, Facebook, LinkedIn and by email. A free tour is always listed there; a hosted one only if you want.

  • Only with your team

Keep it private while you work on it, and invite colleagues or your web designer to view or edit it with you.
