Which photo formats and sizes can I upload?
Last checked 30 October 2026
JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg) or TIFF (.tif, .tiff) files that are twice as wide as they are tall (2:1), or six square cube-face files (a cube is taken on a computer only, and not on the Add Panoramr page). A photo within 5% of 2:1 is taken too, and fitted to the sphere. A sphere can be up to 23,000 pixels wide and a cube face up to 16,000 × 16,000, but a phone, a tablet or a computer with too little memory sends the photo to Panoramr's servers, which take a sphere up to 16,384 pixels wide. For a tour, PNG, WebP, HEIC, RAW files such as DNG, and every other kind of file are not taken: export a JPEG or TIFF from your stitching or editing app. Renaming a file to .jpg does not help: the upload panel checks what the file really is. A single 360 photo that you post to Explore with Add Panoramr has its own limit: it can be at most 16,384 pixels wide. That page, and the social site's page for a post from a phone, take JPEG and TIFF. A file of 250 MB or less works best: when your computer makes the tiles a larger one is still taken, but takes longer and needs a recent computer with plenty of memory, and a photo sent whole to Panoramr's servers is refused above 600 MB. Photo requirements has the full list.
