The short version
Create Tour lets you build a tour from your own 360 photos without an account. You tick a box to agree to the terms and choose your photos; each one is prepared in your browser and added to a guest tour as soon as it is ready. Then you open the tour to add hotspots, choose a design and publish. It is kept as a guest tour for 2 days, and creating a free account keeps it for good. You can also download it, from its Publish tab.
What you need
- A current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera or Safari (version 15 or later). The page says it works best on a computer.
- Up to 20 panoramas, each a 2:1 JPEG or TIFF, the same as a normal upload. A file of 250 MB or less works best: a larger one is still taken, but takes longer and needs a recent computer with plenty of memory. Photo requirements explains the shape and the sizes.
- No account. If you are signed in, the page is headed Create new tour, without the trial's steps or example tours, and offers Go to my tours: your panoramas go into your account as a new tour.
Build a tour
- Open Create Tour, at
pro.panoramr.com/create-tour. The Home page has a button for it: Try it free, no sign-up. - In the panel, under Choose photos, tick the box to agree to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. Until it is ticked nothing starts: the box shakes and a line reads
Tick this to agree to the terms and start. - Click Choose photos or Choose a folder, or drop your panoramas on the panel. To try it without your own, see Start from an example tour.
- Watch the list. The photos start at once, with no button to press: the page makes your guest tour, and each photo gets a row that goes from
WaitingthroughProcessingandUploadingtoReady. Above the rows, one bar shows the whole import in three steps (Checking, Preparing and Uploading), with how many are ready and about how long is left. - If a security check appears at the top right of the page, complete it. Until the guest tour exists, your photos are prepared and kept on your device, marked
Prepared, and they are sent as soon as it does. - When everything is in, the panel says
Your tour is ready. Click Go to your tour: the tour opens on its Tour tab.
How it works, at the top of the page, opens four steps that sum this up. The tour is named after what you type in Tour name (optional, beside the panel), or else after its first panorama. While the photos go in you can change their Order, drag a row by the six dots at its left, click a row's name to type another, and click Add more photos. The design is not chosen on Create Tour: you work on it on the Design tab. If you came from a design in the Designs gallery, the tour opens in that design. If the guest tour cannot be made, the panel says Your tour was not uploaded. and why, with Try again.
Closing the tab pauses the upload, and your browser asks you first. The photos already in your tour stay, and the rest carry on when you open the page again in the same browser. Cancel stops the import: the photos already in the tour stay and the rest are removed.
In the editor
The Tour tab opens with your tour. Under the header, a yellow bar says This is a guest tour. It is deleted on and the date, 2 days after you uploaded. Change the look on the Design tab as you like. Save & Render saves the design of the guest tour.
A guest tour has the editor's tabs too, in the Basic view to start with: Tour, Panoramrs, Hotspots, Design, Preview and Publish. Click Advanced at the right end of the row to add Floor Plans, Assets, Settings and Analytics. Tour, Panoramrs, Floor Plans, Hotspots, Design, Branding, Settings and Preview work as in an account, except that on Settings the publishing strategy and the collaborators are greyed out. Delete this tour at the foot of the Tour tab, or Delete tour at the bottom of Settings, deletes the guest tour and its panoramas for good, after asking, and takes you back to the start of the trial. You can add pictures to hotspots, up to 20 MB in all and 5 MB each, and up to 3 floor plans. The guest account still holds at most 20 panoramas, so adding more from the Panoramrs tab is refused. Assets and Analytics are shown greyed out, under ... is not available on the trial. Create a free account to use it. On Publish, only Download works, and only in the Standard design, with the Panoramr splash, logo and nadir: the rest of that tab is greyed out the same way. The download is a .zip of HTML files to put on any web host. Pages outside the tour, such as the dashboard, open the sign-up page.
Only the browser you uploaded from can open a guest tour. Until its date, coming back to Create Tour in that browser, or clicking Create Tour in the header, opens your guest tour again, on its Tour tab. To start again instead, click Start a new tour in the yellow bar. You can have one guest tour, so Create Tour then shows a card headed Your guest tour with its name and the date it is kept until, and the panel below it is greyed out. The card offers Open your tour, Add more panoramas, Save it with a free account and Delete it and start again, which asks first, says This cannot be undone., and then lets you build a new tour.
If you are signed in, there is no box to tick: the tour goes into your account as a new draft, with no guest tour.
Start from an example tour
If you have no 360 photos at hand, start from one of the example tours. They are in the panel, under the terms box, below the line Or start from an example. Each card shows the tour's picture, its name, the line One click makes a tour you can edit. and Build this tour.
- Tick the box to agree to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy, as for an upload. Clicking a card first makes the box shake, with
Tick this to agree to the terms and start. - Click a card. It reads
Making your tour…, thenYour ... tour is ready. - Click Go to your tour.
The tour starts with the example's panoramas, settings and design, and you change it from there. It is a guest tour like an uploaded one, kept for 2 days, and creating a free account keeps it.
The example panoramas are shared by every tour made from them, so they cannot be replaced, rotated, blurred or deleted: the message reads This is a sample panorama, shared by every trial, so it cannot be changed here. Add your own panorama to the tour instead. Your tour still keeps its own hotspots and names on them, and you can take one out of your tour and add your own photos.
Keep the tour
- On the Design page, click Save my tour in the yellow bar. The sign-up page opens and says
Create your free account to keep your tour ... - Fill it in and click Register. The guest tour becomes your account's tour, with its design, and the Design page opens again. If the site asks you to confirm your email address, the confirmation page comes first.
Signing up with Google, Facebook or Microsoft from the same browser keeps the tour too, if that address has no account yet. Logging in to an account you already have keeps it as well: the log-in page says Your guest tour ... will be added to your account when you log in, and a blue bar says is being added to your account until the tour is in My Tours, a few minutes later. If the account is full, a yellow bar says Your account is full instead: remove panoramas, then click Add it now in that bar. Until then it stays a guest tour, and is deleted on its date.
Your account follows the limits of your plan. On Free, the account holds up to 250 panoramas, so a guest tour of up to 20 fits with room to spare.
A tour kept in this browser before
Before guest tours, the page kept a tour in your browser until you signed up. A tour kept that way still shows a notice on Create Tour with Create a free account to keep it, Log in and Discard. After you sign up and confirm your email address, a banner on your dashboard offers Import it.
Troubleshooting
The page says This page works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera and Safari 15 or later. Your browser is not one of those. Open the page in one of them.
Nothing starts when I choose photos. The box is not ticked. Tick it, under Choose photos, and choose again.
A file I chose is not in the list of photos. A file the panel cannot use is at the top of the list, in red, marked Can’t use, with the reason. Check it against Photo requirements.
A photo says Failed. Its row says why. Click Try again on the row. Fix upload problems lists the messages.
The page says photos need choosing again. The page was reloaded before those photos were saved on your device. Click Choose them again and pick the same files; the photos already in the tour stay.
A big photo takes a long time. No file is left out for its size, but one over 250 MB takes longer to read and to make, and needs a recent computer with plenty of memory. If it is too slow, export the photo as a JPEG, which is far smaller, and add that instead.
There are no example tours. They can be switched off.
The Download pane says Downloading is not available on the trial. Create a free account to use it. The trial's download has been switched off.
Fewer photos were added than I chose. A guest tour holds up to 20 panoramas. The first ones are added and the rest are left out; the notes beside the panel say how many are left on your test tour.
Too many tours were started from this address. Please try again in an hour, or create a free account. One connection can start a few guest tours an hour; the message says how long to wait. Wait, then click Try again, or create an account.
Please complete the security check, then try again. Complete the check at the top right of the page, then click Try again.
Create a free account to do this. Your guest tour comes with you. That needs an account, such as publishing or inviting people. Click Save my tour to create the account.
My guest tour is gone. It was deleted on its date, or you uploaded another one from Create Tour, or you are in a different browser from the one you uploaded from.
