The short version

Click Create Tour in the header, give the tour a name if you like, and choose your 360 photos. Each one is prepared in your browser and goes into the new tour as soon as it is ready. When the page says Your tour is ready, click Go to your tour. The tour is a draft that only you, and people you share it with, can see.

Before you start

  • You need an account and you must be signed in. If Panoramr has asked you to confirm your email address, do that first (see Sign up and confirm your email). Without an account, the same page is the free trial (while it is switched on): see Try Panoramr without an account.
  • Use a current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera or Safari (version 15 or later), on a computer if you can. A computer prepares your photos in the browser, so a large panorama can take a while; a phone or tablet sends them to Panoramr's servers to be prepared.
  • Your photos should be 2:1 JPEG or TIFF files, up to 23,000 pixels wide. Photo requirements has the full list and the limits of each plan. A Free account can have unlimited draft tours and holds up to 250 panoramas in all.

Create the tour and add photos

  1. Click Create Tour in the header. Create New Tour on My Tours and Start a tour on a new account's dashboard open the same page, headed Create new tour, at pro.panoramr.com/create-tour.
  2. Optional: type a name in Tour name. Left empty, the tour is named after its first photo. You can rename it later on the Tour tab.
  3. Click Choose photos or Choose a folder, or drop your photos on the panel. The notes beside the panel say how many panoramas are left on your plan.
  4. Watch the list. There is no import button on this page: the tour is made as soon as you choose, and each photo gets a row that goes from Waiting through Processing and Uploading to Ready. Above the rows, one bar shows the whole import in three steps (Checking, Preparing and Uploading), with how many are ready (2 of 5 ready) and about how long is left.
  5. Optional, at any time: choose an Order (Date taken, File name (A to Z) or My own order (drag to change)), drag a row by the six dots at its left, click a row's name to type another, or click Add more photos.
  6. When the last photo is in, the panel says Your tour is ready. Click Go to your tour: the tour opens on its Tour tab.

A file the panel cannot use is listed at the top of the list with its reason, and nothing of it is uploaded. A photo that fails is marked Failed, with Try again on its row; the others carry on.

What you have now

A new tour is a draft. Only you, and people you shared the tour with, can open it. Anyone else who opens its address sees Tour not published and This tour is private: its owner has not published it.

Each scene has the name its row had: the file's name without the extension, tidied while Tidy the names is ticked, or the name you typed. The scenes are in the order of the list. You can rename a scene in Panoramrs Name on the Panoramrs tab and reorder scenes by dragging rows on the Tour tab.

From here, the usual next steps are:

  • Panoramrs tab: open a scene and click Set Initial View to choose where visitors start looking.
  • Hotspots tab: click Add Link Hotspot to link one scene to another, or Add Infotation to add information to a scene.
  • Design tab: choose how the tour looks, then click Save & Render.
  • Publish tab: under Overview, tick Publish to Global Showcase and click Save Settings. The card says this makes the tour visible on your creator profile and on Explore. Free publishing on Explore holds up to 10 tours and 250 panoramas in all; if the tour does not fit, Save Settings says so (see Free publishing, plan hosting or a Vault).

A tour on Explore shows your own design with Panoramr's branding while it is in a free theme, the Default Theme; a Pro theme shows the free Default look instead, until the tour is hosted, unless you are on a paid plan (Pro, Agency or Enterprise), which gives visitors your design in any theme. A tour that is hosted, in a Vault or in your plan's hosting (the Hosting pane of the Publish tab), shows your own design in any theme without Panoramr's branding. Any published tour can be embedded on other websites. Every scene is published with the tour. What each tab does describes the whole tab row.

Other ways to start

  • On the same page, under Add from, Asset Library (below Upload New) lists panoramas you already have. Tick some and click Import Selected. The new tour takes the name you typed, or the first panorama's, and opens by itself.
  • Add more photos to an existing tour with Add Panoramr on the Tour tab or Upload Panoramrs on the Panoramrs tab. Both open the Add Panorama window, which shows several photos as a checked list first and starts them when you click Import Panoramas.

Troubleshooting

A file I chose is not in the tour. Look at the top of the list: a file the panel cannot use is there in red, marked Can’t use, with the reason (not a JPEG or TIFF, not 2:1, or wider than the largest size). A file is not left out for how many megabytes it is, but one over 250 MB takes longer. Check the files against Photo requirements. Fix upload problems lists every message.

Fewer photos were added than I chose. Your account has room for only so many panoramas (250 on Free, counting everything you own). The page adds the first ones that fit and leaves the rest out; the notes beside the panel say how many are left on your plan.

A photo says Failed. Its row says why, for example that the connection was lost or that your account already holds as many panoramas as your plan allows. Click Try again on the row once the cause is gone. Fix upload problems lists every message.

The page says photos need choosing again. The page was reloaded before those photos were saved on your device. Click Choose them again and pick the same files; the photos already in the tour stay.

Syncing to Cloud... never goes away. See How a panorama import works.

A box in the corner says Your tour was not made. You left Create Tour while the photos were going in, and the tour could not be finished. The box says None of your photos could be added, so no tour was made. or We could not make your tour just now. Please try again. Go back to Create Tour and add the photos again.
