The About page: what it says and where it comes from

What each part of the About Panoramr page covers, where its facts come from, and where to go for the details it points to.

Reference3 min read Updated

The About page says in a few paragraphs what Panoramr is, who is behind it and how it works. It is plain text with links; there is nothing to fill in or switch. This page lists its four parts and where each one's facts come from.

Who sees it. Everybody; no account and no plan. It sits in the company pages' frame, with the list of company pages (About Panoramr, Industries, Designs, Contact Us, Support - FAQ, Help Articles, Guides, and the legal pages) beside it.

Where its facts come from. The company details are written once, in the same place as the footer and the legal pages use, so they cannot disagree. The line about photo details is the same as the Help Center's What we keep about your photos. The founder's line is the same as the guides' author note.

The sections

What Panoramr does

Says what the product is and who uses it.

Where: About page, the section What Panoramr does. Default: Always shown. What it does: Describes the work in one paragraph: upload 360° photos, link them, add notes, video, sound and a floor plan in the browser, give the tour a design, then share the link or embed it. It names the kinds of customer (hotels, holiday lets, estate agents, venues, schools, museums, and the photographers who make tours for them). Three links lead on: Everything Panoramr does, Panoramr by industry, and For 360° photographers. What visitors see: The paragraph and the three links. Related: Features pages, Industry and venue pages.

Who is behind it

Names the company that runs Panoramr and its founder.

Where: About page, the section Who is behind it. Default: Always shown. What it does: Gives the company's name, the country it is registered in, its company number and its registered office, and says Panoramr was founded by Ben Kenyon, who has made 360° virtual tours for over 20 years. The same company details are in the footer and the legal pages. What visitors see: One paragraph. Related: Legal pages.

How we work

Four promises about how the service behaves.

Where: About page, the section How we work. Default: Always shown. What it does: Lists four points: making a tour and trying every theme is free and you pay only to host with your own branding; the details inside your photos, including where they were taken, are taken out of the copies visitors load; the Help Center describes what the app does today; and every plan is priced in pounds on the pricing page. What visitors see: A short list with links to the Help Center and the pricing page. Related: What we keep about your photos, The Help Center.

Get in touch

Where to write.

Where: About page, the section Get in touch. Default: Always shown. What it does: Points to the contact page and to the team's email address, for a question, a demo or an Enterprise plan. The address is not written in the page's source in readable form; your browser turns it into a link. What visitors see: One sentence and the link. Related: The contact page.

Troubleshooting

The company details look different from another page. They should not: every page reads them from one place. Tell us through the contact page.
