Work with clients

Build it together, then hand it over

Invite your client onto the tour to look, approve or edit. Keep hosting it for them, or hand it over so they own it and pay for its hosting, with you still on it if you want.

In short

Any tour can have collaborators: invite a client as a Viewer, an Editor or an Admin, on any plan, or be invited onto a tour in your client’s own account. Draft Workflows keeps visitors on the published version while you change it. When the job is done, keep hosting the tour yourself, or hand it over: the client takes it over with a Vault and the tour moves into their account.

Who owns the tour, and who pays

  • You keep hosting it

The tour stays in your account, in your plan or a Vault of yours. Your client looks at and edits it as a collaborator; you renew it.

    • Best for a retainer or a managed service
  • Your client pays

Offer the tour from its Settings tab. Your client looks, chooses a Vault and pays. It moves into their account and they renew it.

    • The usual way for a one-off job
  • You pay first

Put the tour in a Vault you bought for a set time, then hand it over. The Vault goes with the tour and your client pays nothing now.

    • Hosting as part of your fee
  • It is theirs from the start

Your client starts the tour in their own account and invites you to it. You build it there; they publish it and pay for its hosting.

    • Nothing to hand over at the end

Every step

Invite your client onto the tour

Open the tour’s Settings tab, type your client’s email under Project Collaborators, choose a role and click Share. If they have an account they are added at once; if not, the invitation waits 14 days for them to sign up with that address.

  • Viewer: the Tour, Preview and Analytics tabs: look, approve and see the numbers
  • Editor: also the photos, floor plans, assets and hotspots
  • Admin: also Design, Settings and Publish
  • Only you invite people, change roles and remove them

Choose what each role can open

Client Workspaces is one grid of tick boxes for all your tours: a column for each role and a box for each tab. Let clients look at Analytics but not Design, or let editors delete photos. It applies to every tour you own and everyone on them.

Client Workspaces

Change a live tour without visitors seeing

Turn on Draft Workflows in the tour’s Settings and visitors keep the version you last published: the scenes, hotspots, floor plans, design and languages. Make changes, let the client look in Preview, then click Publish Changes.

Keep hosting it for your client

Leave the tour in your account, in your plan’s hosting or in a Vault of yours, and invite your client as a Viewer or an Editor. You pay and renew; you decide what to charge for that. A tour in your plan is private until you tick Published, so the client can approve it first.

  • No Panoramr branding while it is hosted
  • The client’s logo and words on the tripod patch
  • You keep control of renewals

Work in your client’s account

A venue can start a tour with no photos in its own account and invite you to it, usually as an Admin. The tour is in your My Tours, marked Shared with me: upload the panoramas, link the rooms and design it there. What you upload counts against your client’s account, and only they publish it, choose its hosting and invite anyone else.

  • Nothing to hand over when the job is done
  • Your client pays for their own hosting
  • They can keep you on for reshoots, or make you a Viewer

Hand the tour over

When your client should own the tour and pay for it, click Hand over to client on its Settings tab. Type their email, add a message, choose who pays and what access you keep. They get an email, look at the tour, take it over with a Vault, and it moves into their account with everything in it.

  • They need no account first: they make one when they take it over
  • The client pays for a Vault, or you pay first and the Vault goes with the tour
  • You stay on as Administrator, Editor or Viewer, or leave it
  • You can withdraw the offer until they have paid
  • Part of the Pro, Agency and Enterprise plans

What moves with it

The scenes and their pictures, hotspots, floor plans, design, settings and the files on its Assets tab. The custom icons and library files it shows are copied, so you keep yours. Your plan’s photo count goes down by the tour’s photos, and the tour keeps playing even if you later close your account.

Give a tour to a colleague

To move a tour to a colleague’s account with no payment, use the two-arrows icon beside their name under Project Collaborators. They accept on the tour’s Settings page, and you stay on as an Admin.

Questions

Does my client need a paid plan to work on the tour?

No. A collaborator can be on any plan, Free included. They need an account with the email address you invited.

Which plans can hand a tour over?

Pro, Agency and Enterprise. Only the tour’s owner can do it, with a confirmed email address.

Can I still edit the tour after handing it over?

Yes, if you kept Administrator or Editor access. Your client can change what you may do.

What if my client never answers?

Nothing changes: the tour stays yours until they take it over, and you can withdraw the offer until they have paid.

Can my client comment on the tour?

There is no comment tool in the editor. A Viewer looks at the tour, its preview and its numbers; send feedback by email, or give them the Editor role to make small changes themselves.

Can the client see changes before visitors do?

Yes, with Draft Workflows on: they look in Preview, and visitors see the changes only after Publish Changes.
