The short answer
Client Workspaces in My Account is one grid of tick boxes for all your tours: a column for each role (Viewer, Editor, Admin) and a box for most tabs of the tour editor (not Assets or Branding). Tick what a role may open and click Save Settings. The grid applies to every tour you own and to everyone you added to them. It creates no workspaces and adds no people: you do that one tour at a time.
Open the page
- Click your name or picture at the top right of the website (on a phone or a narrow window, the menu button), then My Account.
- Click Client Workspaces in the list of account pages (on the left, or above the page on a narrow window). The page is headed Client Workspace Settings and its card Global Feature Access.
Any signed-in account can open it, on any plan. An account whose email address is not confirmed yet is sent to Check your inbox first (see what an unconfirmed account can do), and a free-trial guest account is sent to the sign-up page. The settings are your account's: they decide what people can open on tours you own, and do nothing for tours that belong to someone else. After a transfer, the settings that count for a tour are the new owner's.
The defaults
Until you save the page, the app uses these. The Assets row has no box on the page.
| Viewer | Editor | Admin | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overall Dashboard (the Tour tab) | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Panoramrs Tab | No | Yes | Yes |
| Floor Plans Tab | No | Yes | Yes |
| Assets tab | No | Yes | Yes |
| Hotspots Tab | No | Yes | Yes |
| Design Tab | No | No | Yes |
| Preview Tab | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Settings Tab | No | No | Yes |
| Analytics Tab | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Publish Tab | No | No | Yes |
| Enable deleting panoramas | No box | Yes | Yes |
| Enable deleting the tour | No box | No box | No |
Change the settings
- Tick or untick the boxes under Feature Access in a column. Under Action Permissions the Editor and Admin columns have Enable deleting panoramas, and the Admin column also has Enable deleting the tour.
- Click Save Settings. The page says
Saved securely.and a banner readsShared Workspace configuration updated securely. - Reset Defaults asks
Are you sure you want to reset to the default permissions? Any unsaved changes will be lost. Then it fills the grid with the page's starting lists. Nothing is stored until you click Save Settings.
What saving does
- It stores all three lists on your account. From then on they replace the defaults, for all three roles and all your tours. A tab that is not in a role's list is not shown to that role, and a role with nothing ticked sees no tabs. If you saved before, the lists you saved are the ones in force.
- People see a change the next time they open a page: the tab row is read when a page loads.
- The Assets tab is dropped. The page has no box for it, and its starting lists omit it. If you have never saved, Editors and Admins have the Assets tab. After your first save they do not, and the Assets page answers them with a 403 error. Reset Defaults does not bring it back. If you need it back, contact us.
What each box controls
- A tab box (Panoramrs Tab, Floor Plans Tab, Hotspots Tab, Design Tab, Settings Tab, Analytics Tab and Publish Tab) shows the tab, and the server refuses the role at that tab's page.
- Overall Dashboard and Preview Tab only show or hide their tabs. Anyone on the tour can still open those two pages by their address.
- Enable deleting panoramas shows the delete icon on scenes. The window it opens lets the role take the scene out of that tour only, or Delete Panorama (Everywhere): the owner's panorama goes to the owner's Trash and out of every tour that uses it. Without the box the server answers
Deleting panoramas is disabled for your role. - Enable deleting the tour shows the Danger Zone on the Settings tab, with Move to Trash. It needs Settings Tab ticked too. The tour goes to your trash and only you can restore it: see Deleting tours.
- Boxes that need each other. Hotspot changes are saved through the Panoramrs permission, so tick Panoramrs Tab with Hotspots Tab. The Save Settings button on the Publish tab and the Save Changes button on the Tour tab need Settings Tab. So does Save & Render on the Design tab: tick Settings Tab with Design Tab, or it answers 403.
- Publish Changes. No box controls Publish Changes (Draft Workflows): every collaborator, a Viewer included, can click it. Unticking Publish Tab only hides that tab and refuses its page.
Troubleshooting
Editors and Admins lost the Assets tab. You saved this page, which has no box for that tab: see What saving does.
A role I changed still sees the old tabs. Check that the page said Saved securely., and ask the person to open another page. The settings that count are those of the tour's owner.
A tab shows but gives a 403 error. A box it depends on is not ticked: see What each box controls.
An Admin has no Danger Zone. Tick Enable deleting the tour and keep Settings Tab ticked.
