Let your photographer build the tour in your account

Make a tour with a first photo, invite your photographer to it, and let them build the rest in your own account. What they can do, and what stays yours.

The short answer

Your photographer can build the tour inside your own account. Make the tour with a first photo on the Create Tour page, invite the photographer to it as an Admin or an Editor, and they upload the rest of the panoramas and build the tour there. The tour is yours from the start: only you publish it, choose where it is hosted and decide who else works on it.

This is one of three ways to work with a photographer. They can also send you the finished photos to upload yourself, or build the tour in their own account and give it to you afterwards (take over a tour from a creator). Hiring a 360° photographer compares the three.

Who can do it

  • You, the tour's owner, with an account of your own on any plan, Free included. A free-trial guest tour cannot invite anyone: create your account first.
  • With a confirmed email address. Until yours is confirmed, Share sends you to the Check your inbox page.
  • Your photographer needs an account too, on any plan. A photographer listed in Hire a Creator has one already.

Make the tour and invite your photographer

  1. In My Tours, click Create New Tour.
  2. Type the tour's name in Tour name (left empty, the tour is named after your first panorama, and you can rename it on its Tour tab), and add one 360° photo: any one will do to start, and your photographer can replace it later.
  3. When it has uploaded, open the new tour and click its Settings tab, then go to Project Collaborators. A tab that is open is always in the tab row, in the Basic view too.
  4. Type your photographer's Email Address.
  5. Choose an Access Level: Admin if they design the tour too, Editor if they add only the panoramas, floor plans and hotspots. Editor is selected to begin with.
  6. Click Share.

A photographer whose account has a confirmed email with that address is added at once and gets an email. Otherwise the invitation waits for 14 days, until they sign up with that address and confirm it: see Invite collaborators to a tour.

What your photographer does

  • They find the tour in My Tours, marked Shared with me.
  • They upload the panoramas on its Panoramrs tab, with Upload Panoramrs, and link the rooms and add notes on the Hotspots tab.
  • As an Admin they can also design the tour on the Design tab and change its Settings.

What they upload is stored in your account and counts against your plan's limit: 250 panoramas for the whole account on Free. You can change what each role can open on the Client Workspaces page.

What stays with you

  • Putting the tour online. Published, Publish to Global Showcase, Host in my plan and a Vault are yours to set. An Admin who changes one gets Only the tour owner can change this setting. The ways to put a tour online are in Free publishing and plan hosting.
  • Who works on the tour. Only you invite people, change their role and remove them.
  • The tour itself. It stays in your account whatever happens to the photographer's.

When the tour is finished

  • Keep them on it to come back after a refit: they can replace a panorama and its hotspots stay.
  • Make them a Viewer with the list beside their name under Active People, so they can still look at it.
  • Remove them: click the X beside their name (its tooltip is Remove Access). Their access ends at once.

Troubleshooting

The photographer cannot open the Design tab. They are an Editor. Change their role to Admin under Active People.

The photographer's upload is refused because the account is full. What they upload counts against your account, not theirs: see Plans and limits.
