Share hotspots between tours
Hotspots are saved on the panorama. Use Share with other Tours to show one in other tours that use it, and hide or delete it. There is no global manager.

The short answer
A hotspot is saved on its panorama, not on a tour. When the same panorama is in more than one tour, a hotspot made in one tour is shown in the others only if its Share with other Tours switch is on, and each tour can hide it for itself. Hotspots are never copied to the other panoramas of a tour, and a shared hotspot has one position, the same in every tour. Panoramr has no global hotspot manager.
When this applies
Only when a panorama is in more than one tour. That happens when you add a panorama from your Asset Library to another tour: on the Tour tab click Add Panoramr, open the Asset Library tab, click the panorama and click Import Selected. It also happens when you swap a scene to a panorama that another tour uses. A panorama that is in one tour has nothing to share.
What a tour shows
The Preview tab, the public page and a download show a hotspot on a scene only when all of these hold:
- The hotspot was made in this tour, or Share with other Tours is on for it. A hotspot saved before hotspots recorded their tour counts as shared.
- It is not hidden in this tour.
- For a link hotspot, the scene it leads to is also in this tour.
Share with other Tours is off when you make a hotspot. The Hotspots tab is different: it draws every hotspot in the list the tour holds for the panorama, including other tours' hotspots that are not shared with this one, and the number beside each scene counts them all.
Share a hotspot
Who can do it: the owner, and Editors and Admins by default. They have the Hotspots tab, and saving a hotspot also needs the Panoramrs tab. Share with other Tours is in the Advanced view.
- Open the Hotspots tab, choose the scene and click your hotspot.
- In Hotspot Properties, switch on Share with other Tours. Switch it off to stop sharing.
The switch saves by itself half a second later and refreshes the stored copy of every tour that uses the panorama, except tours with Draft Workflows on: those need Publish Changes (my changes do not show). The switch is there only for a hotspot made in this tour.
Hide hotspots in one tour
With no hotspot selected, the box From Other Tours lists the other tours that have hotspots on this panorama, with a count for each.
- Hide All External Hotspots hides, in this tour, every hotspot that was not made in it. Show All External Hotspots brings them back. Each button shows only when it has something to do.
- For one hotspot, select it and click the eye icon at the top of Hotspot Properties (tooltip
Toggle Visibility in this Tour), or click the trash icon and choose Hide in this Tour.
A hidden hotspot is drawn faded with a red ring in the Hotspots tab. Hiding affects this tour only.
Delete a hotspot everywhere
Click the trash icon at the top of Hotspot Properties (tooltip Delete Hotspot). The Remove Hotspot window offers Hide in this Tour and Delete Hotspot (Globally). It says the second one Permanently removes this hotspot from this panorama across ALL tours. This action cannot be undone. and lists the other tours that use the panorama under Also used in these tours:. While you stay on the Hotspots tab, the undo button at the top left of the picture can still bring the hotspot back.
Anyone who can edit hotspots in a tour that uses the panorama can delete a hotspot that another tour made. To remove it from this tour only, choose Hide in this Tour.
What is not offered
- A global hotspot manager, or a hotspot that appears on every scene of a tour. Add one to each scene. For a button on every scene, use the menu bar button.
- A different position for a shared hotspot in each tour.
Troubleshooting
A hotspot from another tour is in my editor but not in Preview. It is not shared with this tour, or it is hidden here.
A hotspot I shared does not show in the other tour. Check in order: the switch is on and saved; the hotspot is not hidden in the other tour (faded, with a red ring, in its Hotspots tab); for a link hotspot, its target scene is in that tour; the stored copy is refreshed. If all of these are right, see the note above and contact us.
A hotspot disappeared from another tour. Someone chose Delete Hotspot (Globally), switched sharing off, or saved the panorama from another tour (see the note above).
I cannot find Share with other Tours. It shows only for a hotspot made in this tour, and only in the Advanced view.
A box says Someone else changed this panorama's hotspots while you were editing. Another person, or you in another tour or window, saved hotspots on the same panorama. Your changes are not saved. Load their changes drops yours; Keep mine replaces theirs.
