Floorplan minimap settings in the Design tab
Every setting of the Floorplan minimap panel in the Design tab and of the side menu link to the plan: where it is, what it starts as and what visitors see.

On this page
The minimap is a small copy of the tour's floor plan, or a street map of where its panoramas were taken, that floats in a corner of the tour: a pin for each scene, the pin of the room a visitor is in marked with a radar cone, and a click on a pin takes them there. This page lists every setting of the Floorplan minimap panel (Design tab > Floorplan minimap) in the Design tab, in the order the panel shows them, and the two settings of the side menu's link to the plan. Uploading a plan and pinning its scenes is done on the Floor Plans tab: see Add a floor plan and a minimap to a tour.
Who can use it. The owner and, by default, an Admin collaborator can open the Design tab. The panel is in the Advanced view only; the Basic view does not list it. Every plan has the minimap, but a tour needs at least one floor plan, or, with Show on Map or Both, a panorama with a location: with neither, nothing is drawn whatever the switch says. A tour on a Free plan that wears a Pro theme and has never been hosted shows visitors the free Default look, which has the minimap on at the top right.
When visitors get a change. The preview beside the panels shows it at once. Visitors get it after you click Save & Render, or after Publish changes when the tour uses Draft Workflows (My changes do not show for visitors).
Turn it on
Enable minimap
The switch at the top of the panel shows the floating map over the tour. It starts on.
Where: the Floorplan minimap panel (Design tab > Floorplan minimap), the switch at the top. Advanced view.
Default: on
What it does: Draws the plan in a corner of the player. A dot beside Floorplan minimap in the list of modules shows that it is on.
What visitors see: The floor plan with a pin for each scene, in the corner chosen by Screen position. With the switch off the corner map is gone; the plan can still be opened from a bar icon or the side menu link.
Needs: At least one floor plan on the Floor Plans tab, or panoramas with a location when Show is Map or Both. With several plans a list at the foot or top of the map switches between them, and the map follows a visitor to the plan that holds their scene.

What it shows
Show
Choose whether the corner shows the floor plan, a street map, or both.
Where: the Floorplan minimap panel (Design tab > Floorplan minimap), card What it shows > Show. Advanced view.
Default: Floor plan (floorplan)
What it does: Floor plan shows the plan from the Floor Plans tab. Map shows a street map with a pin for each panorama that has a location (its Latitude and Longitude on the Panoramas tab). Both shows the plan first, with a Plan / Map switch at the top of the box.
What visitors see: The plan or the map in the corner. On the map the pin of the room they are in is marked, a click on a pin takes them to that room, and the map moves to follow them. The cone that shows which way they are looking is drawn on the map only for a panorama whose photo has a compass direction; others have the pin alone.
Needs: For the map, at least one panorama with a location. With Map chosen and no locations, the floor plan is shown; with neither a plan nor a location, the corner is empty. The map is the free OpenFreeMap map, with its credit at the foot: it never uses Google's map, so it adds nothing to your map count.

Placement
These settings are in the card Placement.
Screen position
Choose which corner of the player the map sits in.
Where: the Floorplan minimap panel (Design tab > Floorplan minimap), card Placement > Screen position. Advanced view.
Default: Top right (top-right)
What it does: Bottom left, Bottom right, Top left or Top right.
What visitors see: The map in that corner. In a top corner it makes way for the multi menu bar when that is on.
Related: Initial state.
Initial state
Choose whether the map starts open or tucked away.
Where: the Floorplan minimap panel (Design tab > Floorplan minimap), card Placement > Initial state. Advanced view.
Default: Expanded (expanded)
What it does: Expanded shows the map. Collapsed leaves a toggle button.
What visitors see: A map about 250 pixels across, or a small button that opens it, named by Button label (Floorplan unless you change it). The plan's picture is fetched only when the map is shown: straight away when it starts expanded, on the first press when it starts collapsed. A visitor can also maximize the map to nearly the whole window and restore it.
Options
These settings are in the card Options, in the Advanced view.
Allow corner resizing
Let visitors resize the map.
Where: the Floorplan minimap panel (Design tab > Floorplan minimap), card Options > Allow corner resizing. Advanced view.
Default: on
What it does: Adds a handle in the map's inner corner.
What visitors see: A drag handle with the tooltip Drag to resize; the map keeps the plan's shape (the street map is a little wider than tall) and is never larger than 85 percent of the window.
Button label
The words on the map's button when it is closed, and on the side menu's link to the floor plan.
Where: the Floorplan minimap panel (Design tab > Floorplan minimap), card Options > Button label. Advanced view. It shows only while Enable minimap is on.
Default: Floorplan
What it does: Sets the text of the button a closed map leaves in its corner, and of the link at the foot of the Side nav – list menu that opens the plan. While the link is shown as an icon only, the words are not shown there.
What visitors see: That text on the closed map's button, and beside the side menu's link when the side menu has it. Use Map or Site plan if your plan is a map of a street or grounds. With Show on Map, the closed button says Map.
Needs: For the side menu's link, Floor Plan switched on in the side menu's foot links.

In the side menu
These two settings are in the Side nav – list menu panel (Design tab > Side nav – list menu), not in the Floorplan minimap panel.
Floor Plan
Add a link to the floor plan to the foot of the side menu.
Where: the Side nav – list menu panel (Design tab > Side nav – list menu), Layout tab > card Foot links > Arrange & toggle icons > Floor Plan. Advanced view.
Default: off
What it does: Adds a link, named by Button label, that opens the plan in the Media Window. It works with Enable minimap on or off.
What visitors see: The link at the foot of the side menu, when the side menu is on and the tour has a plan.
Needs: Enable side nav and a floor plan.
Related: Side nav settings.
Show icons as
Show the foot links of the side menu with words or as a row of icons.
Where: the Side nav – list menu panel (Design tab > Side nav – list menu), Layout tab > card Foot links > Show icons as. Advanced view.
Default: Text and icon (text_icon)
What it does: One choice sets the display mode of the three foot links the menu has always had, the floor plan among them. Icons drops the words from the floor plan link.
What visitors see: The floor plan link with its words, or as a small round icon.
Related: Floor Plan.
Other places that open the plan
The floor plan also opens in the Media Window from a Floor Plan icon in the Icon bar, the Top nav bar – dropdown and Mobile navigation, and from an intro page button set to Open a window. See The Media window.
Troubleshooting
Visitors do not see the minimap. Check that Enable minimap is on, that the tour has a floor plan with at least one pin, and that you clicked Save & Render. A tour in a Pro theme that was never hosted, on a Free plan, shows the Default look.
A pin does nothing when a visitor clicks it. Its scene is not in the published tour: see Why can't I publish my tour?.
I cannot find the panel. It is in the Advanced view only.
