Choose how scenes change: fades, slides and cinematic zoom
Pick Scene Switch Styling and Fade Duration on the Design tab, including the cinematic zoom-then-fade. Panoramr has no Little Planet intro.

The short answer
On the tour's Design tab, open Transitions & Cameras and choose a style under Scene Switch Styling. Fade Duration (ms) sets how long it takes, and Cinematic: Look & Zoom to Hotspot is the zoom-then-fade. Click Save & Render to save. There is no Little Planet intro: the tour opens on its first scene through the same scene switch as every other scene, with the style and duration you set here.
Who can do it
- The owner, and a collaborator whose role includes the Design tab (Admins, by default). Save & Render also needs the Settings tab in the role.
- Any plan can set it. For what visitors get on a Free plan, see What visitors get.
Choose the style
- Open the Design tab and click Transitions & Cameras under Component Modules.
- Pick an option in Scene Switch Styling. The default is Crossfade / Opacity. The list holds Fade through Black, Flash White, Slide from Right, Slide from Top, Slide from Bottom, Expand from Center, Fade & Expand from Center, Fade & Slide from Top, Horizontal Wipe, three cinematic styles and Immediate Cut (No Animation).
- Set Fade Duration (ms) in milliseconds. The default is 1000. The setting applies to every style, not only the fades.
- Wait for
Preview is live, then click a navigation hotspot in the preview beside the panels to try it. A change to these settings reloads the preview after a moment. - Click Save & Render.
The cinematic styles
These come from the cinematic plugin of the current player (engine v2), and each reads Cinematic Intensity:
- Cinematic: Look & Zoom to Hotspot. For the first 70 percent of the duration the scene you are leaving turns toward the navigation hotspot that leads to the next scene, and zooms in. For the last 30 percent the next scene fades in. If the scene you are leaving has no hotspot to the next one, for example when a visitor picks it from the gallery or a list, it zooms in without turning.
- Cinematic: Drone Fly-Through. Both scenes zoom in while the next one fades in.
- Cinematic: Smooth Pan Sweep. Both scenes turn sideways while the next one fades in.
Cinematic Intensity appears once one of these is chosen, as a percentage that starts at 100. Its slider is on Advanced, from 10 to 200 percent. It sets how far the zoom goes or how far the turn sweeps.
Advanced options
Click Advanced above the list of panels to see these:
- Navigation Hotspot Override gives navigation hotspots a style of their own. It starts on Use Global Setting. Other ways of changing scene (the gallery, the lists, the menus, the bars' buttons) use Scene Switch Styling. Once an override is chosen, Navigation Hotspot Speed sets its duration in milliseconds, from 0 to 3000. Until you move it, the override uses the Fade Duration.
- Easing Algorithm sets the curve of the change. It starts on Linear (Default).
- Autorotate on Idle is on the same panel: see Auto-rotate and kiosks.
No animation
- Immediate Cut (No Animation) has no animation of its own in the player's code. With a Fade Duration (ms) above 0, the player still fades the next scene in over that time. For an instant change, set the duration to
0. - When a visitor's device is set to reduce motion, the player changes scenes at once, whatever you chose here: see Accessibility.
What visitors get
- On a Free plan a tour in a free theme, the Default Theme, shows visitors your settings. A tour in a Pro theme that has never been hosted shows them the free Default look: Crossfade / Opacity over 1000 milliseconds for Scene Switch Styling, while Navigation Hotspot Override and Cinematic Intensity are not part of a theme and stay. A free download is the Standard design, with the same crossfade. A paid plan (Pro, Agency or Enterprise), or a Vault that hosts the tour or has hosted it, gives them your settings in any theme. The Design tab, its preview and the Preview tab always show them.
- Save & Render refreshes the stored copy that visitors get, unless the tour uses Draft Workflows: then nothing reaches them until you click Publish Changes. To check, open the player address inside the Web Embed Code on the Publish tab in a new tab, or the tour's Explore page and click the play button on its picture. My changes do not show for visitors has the rest.
Troubleshooting
I cannot find Navigation Hotspot Override or Easing Algorithm. The Design tab is in Basic. Click Advanced.
Cinematic Intensity is missing. It shows only when Scene Switch Styling or Navigation Hotspot Override is one of the three cinematic styles. Its slider needs Advanced.
The zoom does not turn toward a hotspot. The scene being left has no navigation hotspot to the next scene: the next scene was reached another way. Add the link on the Hotspots tab: see How to link panoramas.
Visitors see no animation. Check Fade Duration (ms) is above 0, and whether the visitor's device is set to reduce motion.
Visitors still see the old style. The tour wears a Pro theme, has never been hosted and the account is on a Free plan, or the stored copy was made before your change. See What visitors get.
I want a Little Planet intro. Panoramr does not have one. The tour opens on its first scene, with the style and duration you set above.
