Hide the tripod: the Panoramr badge on the floor
Panoramr draws a round badge on the floor of every scene. Which tours lose it, how to hide your own patch, limit looking down, or fix the photo.

The short answer
Panoramr draws a round badge on the floor under the camera of every scene, where a tripod usually stands. It is a graphic that the player adds on top of the picture, not part of your photo. A tour that is not hosted shows it: there Hide Tripod Cap (Nadir Patch) is greyed out, with Needs hosting: this tour shows Panoramr's branding. under it (the Basic view leaves the box out until the tour is hosted). A tour hosted in a Vault or in your plan shows no badge, and shows your own logo on that spot if you saved one: see Add your own branding to a hosted tour. Despite its name the box Hide Tripod Cap (Nadir Patch) does not remove a tripod from your photo: visitors then see the floor as the photo shows it. To keep a tripod out of sight, retouch the photo or limit how far visitors can look down.
What the badge is
- A round graphic with the Panoramr logo, drawn at the point straight down (the nadir) in each scene. How it looks is set by Panoramr's team for the whole platform: no setting in the tour editor changes it for one tour.
- The Panoramrs and Hotspots tabs draw it too when you look straight down, until the box is ticked and saved.
- Whether visitors see it follows the tour's hosting, each time somebody opens the tour:
| The tour is | Visitors see on the floor |
|---|---|
| Not hosted (free publishing, or private) | Panoramr's badge. The box is greyed out until the tour is hosted (on the tour's own Explore page the badge follows a box that was ticked while the tour was hosted) |
| Hosted, no logo of your own saved | Nothing |
| Hosted, a logo of your own saved | Your logo and words on the round patch. Tick the box to hide it |
| Hosted, then the hosting ended | A Vault that ended: nothing changes for 7 days, then Panoramr's badge is back. Plan hosting that stopped covering the tour: the badge is back at once. Your own logo is kept and comes back when the tour is hosted again |
Hide your own patch
The box has an effect on a hosted tour that has a logo of its own.
- Open the tour and click the Publish tab. The Overview pane opens first.
- Under the Web Embed Code, tick Hide Tripod Cap (Nadir Patch).
- It saves as soon as you tick it, and
Saved successfully.shows beside Save Settings. Ticking it also saves anything else you changed on this pane, such as Publish to Global Showcase.
Who can do it: the owner, and a collaborator whose role includes the Publish tab and the Settings tab (an Admin, by default). Without the Settings tab, saving fails with a 403 error.
What visitors get
- The change reaches visitors at their next visit: it does not wait for the stored copy to be rebuilt, and renewing a Vault takes the badge off at once. The tour must be hosted, now: see What happens when a Vault ends.
- A tour that uses Draft Workflows shows the saved version until you click Publish Changes. To check what a visitor gets at the player address or on another website, open the player address inside the Web Embed Code in a new tab and look straight down. Do not check on the tour's Explore page: there the badge of a tour that is not hosted follows the box. See My changes do not show for visitors.
If the tripod shows once the badge is gone
Limit how far visitors look down. On the Design tab, click Advanced, open Global Aesthetics and set Limit View Downward (Pitch), with Lock Maximum Zoom (FOV) ticked. A limit does not crop the picture, so it hides the floor under the camera only when it is low enough for the visitor's window and zoom, and visitors then cannot tilt down to the floor near the camera. Limit how far visitors can look up or down has a table of what each limit hides. The limit is saved with the tour, not with a theme, so visitors get it on every plan; a free download is the Standard design, which has none.
Fix the photo. Panoramr has no retouching tool. Remove the tripod in your own photo software, then on the Panoramrs tab select the scene in Panorama List, click Replace Original File, stay on Upload New and drop the new file. The scene keeps its hotspots and links. Replace or swap a panorama explains the window, and Photo requirements the file rules.
Troubleshooting
I ticked the box and visitors still see the badge. In order: the tour is not hosted (open Hosting on the Publish tab); the hosting has ended; Draft Mode Active shows in the tab row, so click Publish Changes; the visitor chose a language whose page a save does not refresh (see the page linked above).
The badge is gone, but the tripod is in the picture. The picture is your photo. Use the options above.
I want my own logo on the floor. Host the tour, then follow Add your own branding to a hosted tour.
Saving fails with a 403 error. Your role has the Publish tab but not the Settings tab. Ask the owner to change it under Client Workspaces in My Account.
