My designs: save a tour's design and reuse it

Save a tour's finished design, apply it to your other tours, and go back with Undo history or Reset: every control of the My designs tab explained.

Reference8 min read Updated

On this page

My designs is the second tab of the Themes panel (Design tab > Themes). It saves the look of one tour as a design with a name, applies it to other tours in one go, and keeps copies of a tour's design so that you can go back. To pick a ready-made theme, start with Choose a look for your tour: themes and My Designs.

Who can use it. The owner, and a collaborator whose role includes the Design tab (an Admin by default). Saving a design needs a paid plan on your own account: Pro, Agency or Enterprise. A Vault does not count. Only you see your designs.

Where it is. Design tab > Themes (Design tab > Themes) > My designs. The tab is in the Advanced view only; the Basic view shows the Library and a Show advanced link.

What a saved design holds. The look of the tour as it was last saved: the colors, fonts, bars, hotspot looks and icons, transitions, the switches of the side menu and the Info and media panel, and the design (not the words) of the intro page when it is on. It never holds logos, pictures, panorama groups or labels you typed. What a theme carries lists it.

When visitors get a change. Applying, resetting and restoring a design refresh the copy visitors get at once. With Draft Workflows nothing reaches them until you click Publish changes (My changes do not show for visitors). A saved design counts as a Pro theme: a tour that wears one shows visitors the free Default look until it is hosted or you are on a paid plan.

Save this tour's design

Design name

The name the design is listed under.

Where: Design tab > Themes (Design tab > Themes) > My designs tab > card Save this tour’s design > Design name. Advanced view. The card shows on a paid plan. Default: none (the field is empty) What it does: Takes up to 100 characters. The hint reads Other tours can apply it later. Enter in the box saves, like Save design. Nothing is saved while the box is empty. What visitors see: Nothing; the name is only yours. Needs: A paid plan. On a Free plan the card says Saving your own designs needs a paid plan. and has no box. Related: Save design.

Save design

Saves the tour's design as a new entry in Saved designs.

Where: Design tab > Themes (Design tab > Themes) > My designs tab > card Save this tour’s design. Advanced view. Default: none What it does: Copies what the tour has saved, not what is only on screen, so press Save & Render first. Design saved to My Designs. shows, and the box is emptied. You can keep 50 designs; after that the message is You have reached the limit of 50 saved designs. The design remembers the tour's layout (the engine) and is described as Saved from <tour name>. What visitors see: Nothing; it only adds an entry to your list. Needs: A paid plan. Related: Design name, Saved designs.

Use a saved design

Saved designs

The list of the designs you have saved, from all your tours.

Where: Design tab > Themes (Design tab > Themes) > My designs tab > card Saved designs. Advanced view. Default: No saved designs yet. What it does: Lists each design by name, with Apply, Apply to tours… and Delete. Designs you saved before moving to a Free plan stay in the list. What visitors see: Nothing until you apply one. Related: Apply.

Apply

Puts the design on this tour.

Where: Design tab > Themes (Design tab > Themes) > My designs tab > Saved designs > Apply. Advanced view. Default: none What it does: Works as Apply on a theme: the look is copied into the tour once, any look setting the design does not set goes back to its default, and the tour's earlier design is copied to Undo history first (Before applying a theme). A window asks Apply …? with three choices: Whole theme (also its layout, icons and menus; menus it does not use are switched off, their items kept), Colours and fonts only or Layout only (the layout, icons and menus, keeping the tour's colors and fonts). With unsaved changes on the page it also says Any of them replaces your unsaved design changes. Undo in the green bar at the top of the preview puts the design back; the bar stays until you close it. Applying on any plan works, a Free plan included. What visitors see: The design, at once (with Draft Workflows, after Publish changes). Related: Apply to tours…, Undo history.

Apply to tours…

Puts one design on several of your other tours.

Where: Design tab > Themes (Design tab > Themes) > My designs tab > Saved designs > Apply to tours…. Advanced view. Default: none What it does: Shows only when you own another tour. A box titled Apply "Name" to: lists your other tours with a tick box each. Tick some and press the button that reads Apply to N tours, up to 100 at a time; Cancel closes the box. Applied to N tours. confirms it, and each tour keeps its previous design in its own Undo history. A tour you cannot design is skipped without a message. What visitors see: Each of those tours shows the design at once (a tour with Draft Workflows, after Publish changes). Needs: Another tour of your own. Related: Apply.

Delete

Removes a saved design from your list.

Where: Design tab > Themes (Design tab > Themes) > My designs tab > Saved designs > Delete. Advanced view. Default: none What it does: Asks Delete "Name"? and says Tours already using it keep their design.; its button is Delete design. Design deleted. confirms it. What visitors see: Nothing changes on tours that already wear the design. Related: Saved designs.

Go back

Undo history

A list of copies of the tour's design, newest first.

Where: Design tab > Themes (Design tab > Themes) > My designs tab > card Undo history. Advanced view. The card shows once the tour has a copy. Default: none until something is applied, reset or restored on the tour. What it does: Before it applies a theme or a design, resets the design or restores a copy, Panoramr copies the tour's design. The labels read Before applying a theme, Before reset and Before restoring a snapshot, with the date and time. It keeps the newest 10 for each tour. Edits you save with Save & Render are not copied, so it is not an undo for ordinary edits. A copy holds all of the tour's saved settings, not only the look, so restoring also puts back what changed since: logos, the menu bar, languages, groups and the Show a start screen and Show the floor patch switches of Branding. What visitors see: Nothing until you restore one. Related: Restore.

Restore

Puts a copy back.

Where: Design tab > Themes (Design tab > Themes) > My designs tab > Undo history > Restore. Advanced view. Default: none What it does: Replaces the tour's settings with the copy (the uploaded thumbnail stays) and says Design restored. With unsaved changes on the page a window asks Restore this saved design? first; its button is Restore design. The design you replace is copied first (Before restoring a snapshot), so a restore can be undone too. What visitors see: The restored design, at once (with Draft Workflows, after Publish changes). Related: Undo history.

Reset to standard design

Takes the look off the tour and goes back to the Standard design.

Where: Design tab > Themes (Design tab > Themes) > My designs tab > card Reset > Reset. Advanced view. Default: none What it does: Removes the look settings and the applied theme (Design reset.). With unsaved changes a window asks Reset the design? and its button is Reset design. The settings a theme does not carry stay: logos, groups, labels, view limits and the layout switches. The design is copied to Undo history first (Before reset). What visitors see: The Standard look, at once (with Draft Workflows, after Publish changes). Related: Undo history.

Troubleshooting

My designs, Undo history or Reset is not there. The Basic view shows the Library only. Click Show advanced at the foot of the module, or Advanced in the switch beside the tab row.

The card says Saving your own designs needs a paid plan. Your account is on the Free plan. Designs you saved earlier still list and apply.

Apply to tours… is missing. You own no other tour. Undo history is missing. Nothing has been applied, reset or restored on this tour yet.

I applied a design and lost my own changes. Press Restore under Undo history.
