Click-anywhere or node-based navigation: how visitors move
Visitors move between scenes through link hotspots, not click-anywhere. Set the view they arrive in with Set View Override and choose how scenes change.

The short answer
Panoramr has node-based navigation only. Each scene is a photo (a node), and visitors move from one scene to another by clicking a link hotspot that you place. There is no click-anywhere or dollhouse mode: a visitor cannot click the floor of a scene to walk to that spot.
Who can do it
- Links and their target views: the owner, and collaborators whose role includes the Hotspots tab (Editors and Admins, by default). Saving also needs the Panoramrs tab in the role.
- Transitions are on the Design tab: the owner, and Admins by default. Saving a design also needs the Settings tab.
- Links and target views need no plan. Transitions are part of a theme: a tour in a Pro theme that has never been hosted, on a Free plan, shows the free Default look on its public page, a crossfade of 1000 ms, whatever you set. A tour in a free theme, the Default Theme, shows yours, and so does a tour on a paid plan, or in a Vault or that was in one, in any theme. The Preview tab shows your own design.
How visitors move
- Link hotspots. Badges that you place in a scene. Link scenes together has the steps, including Add Link Hotspot.
- The player's own navigation. The thumbnails of Bottom Nav - Thumbnails (on by default), the scene dropdown of Top Nav Bar - Dropdown (Enable Dropdown Menu, on by default), the Side Nav - List Menu side menu (off by default) and the pins of a floor plan. These open a scene on its own starting view.
Choose the view visitors arrive in
A link opens its target scene on that scene's own starting view. To give one link a different view:
- On the Hotspots tab, choose the scene the link is in and click the link.
- In Hotspot Properties, choose the scene under Target Panorama. Target Camera View and a Set View Override button appear.
- Click Set View Override. The round button with the eye icon next to the selected link (tooltip
Set Target Camera View) does the same. The Set Link Target View window opens on the target scene. - Drag the picture until what visitors should see is in the middle. A small cross marks the middle.
- Click Set Initial View in that window. It reads
View Set Successfullyfor a moment. The window stays open: close it with the X at its top right.
Back in the panel, a green line reads Custom view override is set.
- In this window the button is called Set Initial View, but it sets the view for this link only. The scene's own starting view does not change.
- The override keeps the direction, the tilt and the zoom you framed. Visitors who arrive through the link get that zoom, not the tour's Initial Global Zoom (FOV). Everyone who arrives another way still gets the scene's starting view.
- The
Target Scene:list in the window changes the link's target too: choose another scene there and the link leads to it. - An override cannot be cleared. The app has no button that removes it. Set a new view to replace it. Changing Target Panorama keeps the old override, so set the view again for the new target. To have a link with no override, add a new link and delete the old one: read Adjust or remove a link first, because a global delete removes the link from every tour that uses the panorama.
Choose how the scene changes
On the Design tab, open Transitions & Cameras.
- Scene Switch Styling sets how one scene gives way to the next. The default is Crossfade / Opacity, and Fade Duration (ms) is 1000.
- Cinematic: Look & Zoom to Hotspot turns the scene you are leaving toward the link that leads to the next one, zooms in, then fades the next scene in. If the scene you are leaving has no link to the next one, for example when a visitor picks it from a list, it zooms in without turning. See Cinematic zoom-then-fade transitions.
- Navigation Hotspot Override gives links their own style, separate from other scene changes. It shows only after you click Advanced. It starts on Use Global Setting. Navigation Hotspot Speed appears once you choose a style, and Cinematic Intensity appears when a cinematic style is chosen.
Click Save & Render to save. A visitor whose device asks for reduced motion gets an instant cut instead of any transition.
Does it reach visitors?
A link's view is saved with the hotspots, half a second after you set it. Save & Render saves the transitions. Both refresh the stored copy of the tour that visitors get, unless the tour has Draft Workflows on: then nothing reaches them until you click Publish Changes. See My changes do not show for visitors and Hold back edits until you publish them.
Troubleshooting
Visitors arrive facing the wrong way. Select the link and look for Custom view override is set.: an override wins over the scene's starting view. If you changed the link's target after setting it, the override still holds the view of the old target. Set it again. With no override, set the target scene's starting view.
The Set View Override button is missing. It appears once a scene is chosen under Target Panorama.
I want to remove an override. The app has no button for it. Replace it with another view, or add a new link and delete the old one, as described under Choose the view visitors arrive in.
Clicking the floor does nothing. Panoramr has no click-anywhere mode. Place a link hotspot where visitors should be able to go.
A transition does not play. A visitor whose device asks for reduced motion gets an instant cut. On a Free plan, a tour in a Pro theme that has never been hosted shows the free Default look on its public page, so your transition shows in the editor and the Preview tab but not for visitors (the Design tab says Visitors, and embeds, see the free Default look until this tour is hosted or you are on a Pro plan.).
